Outfit 37/61: Polka dot top, red skirt, and sandals.
Outfit 38/61: Wine t-shirt, jeans, and ankle boots.
Outfit 39/61: Ivory top, ikat skirt, and sandals.
Here's how it's going so far with the bottoms and dresses in my spring capsule:
Jean shorts: mine are from Old Navy and they have no surprises. It's a good workhorse piece, going with anything that's casual.
Grey shorts: these are a little nicer looking than jean shorts, and they go with almost anything.
Capri jeans: these are a great transitional piece for spring or fall. They look good with almost any kind of shoes or sandals.
Red skirt: mine is from Modcloth. This winter, I was sometimes stumped about what color of tights to wear with it. Now it's warm enough that I don't need any tights - phew!
Pleated chambray skirt: this fuller shape is not my most common skirt choice, so it feels fun and different. I've tried to imitate some outfits that have a shirt untucked and flaring out on top of it (it looks great in magazines!) but I can't get it to work yet. So far I only like it with a tucked in shirt, or a shorter shirt.
Boyfriend jeans: I got mine from Old Navy. They are my go-to jeans, always comfortable (though admittedly not always the most flattering).
Skinny jeans: Old Navy strikes again, with dark wash jeans that go with everything.
Blue and white shirt dress: I had this in my winter capsule and am still happy to see it in my closet. I like the shirttail hem and that it's lightweight and breezy feeling.
Jersey dress: mine is a few years old, from Boden. They still sell this style in different colors and prints. This is one of those easy summer dresses that you can just throw on with some sandals. It doesn't wrinkle and doesn't need any futzing.
